Volunteer with Us

Our Garden
Examples of volunteer-based activities range from trash pickups, weeding, taking care of existing plants, and laying down compost and mulch.
JHScraps
JH SCRAPS, a community composting center operated by the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, was established in Oct. 2012. The rich soil that the food scraps provide once they are composted is returned to parks and green spaces in Jackson Heights. We are open every Saturday from 11am to 1pm. Sign up to volunteer if you’re a composter– or just compost curious!
Tree LLC (JHBG)
Tree LLC at JHBG is dedicated to making Jackson Heights greener and more sustainable. As NYC’s most active volunteer tree-care program, they care for street trees, create curbside gardens, and maintain the Jackson Heights Butterfly Garden to support pollinators. Open to all, Tree LLC offers a hands-on way to improve the environment and build community.
